A lesbian who was attacked in a Queens Sizzler by staff and diners has been awarded $25,000 in a lawsuit after a court ruled that she had been viciously attacked.

Liza Friedlander was pushed, kicked and called a “f**king dyke,” by Edgar Orellana, the manager of a Sizzler in Forest Hills, Queens last year. Once he began, patrons in the diner also chimed in, making for a hostile situation including one diner who  reportedly threatened to show her “what a dick is.”

The fact that this even happened is disgusting. I’m sorry to hear what happened to you Liza, it is shameful. According to the Huffington Post, Friedlander also said that she was relieved by the court’s decision. “On that day, I felt helpless, humiliated and frightened, but today I’m so proud that I stood up and did something about it,” she said. “No one should have to go through a nightmare like that.”
