Lana Del Rey’s Stupid New Video Featuring Lesbians

Who is Lana Del Rey anyway? And does anyone actually care? Is she even a a lesbian or bi, or just one for show like Gaga?

Today I wasted 4 and a half minutes of my life watching the video for Lana Del Rey’s ‘Summertime Sadness’ – a video depicting a lesbian couple suicide story. Jamie King plays her lover who commits suicide, prompting Lana to do the same.

REALLY? She’s just another fake lesbian wannabe acting like one for attention, male viewership and gay viewership (slightly reminiscent of Lady Gaga, no?)

You can watch for yourself, but I don’t feel like posting the video here because I personally think this is a total glamorization of suicide (and LGBTQ) suicide as well. In today’s day in age, you would think that lame-ass Fiona Apple wannabes would come up with better ideas to get attention that playing on a tragedy that happens in this country every day, if not every hour.

The statistics on suicide for young gay people are staggering – and who are a lot of Ms. Del Rey’s fans? Young gay folk. Come on honey – supposedly you had a sleepover last week with Lady Gaga and Lindsey Lohan…Gaga didn’t have to balls to tell Lana that her stupid video (that looks like a missing episode of The Wonder Years – as do all her awful videos) is undoing all the work Gaga’s Born This Way Foundation is trying to support?

And why do these women even get record deals? Lana whines, half-sings and doesn’t impress me, that’s for sure. Her songs are boring, hum-drum and over produced. It’s just ridiculous that Lana and other’s think that this is ‘cool’, relevant or interesting. It’s a messy cluster-f(&k of sadness, bad camera angles and too much fog.
