My Awesome Time with Lady Gaga at Cherry Grove!

I hear talk that it’s the ‘land of gays’!

Okay so I didn’t party with Lady Gaga at Cherry Grove, but she did visit and perfrom at The Grove on August 8, 2008 – before she majorly blew up! This is a picture of her online and in the background is my favorite place on the ‘Grove – The Ice Palace!

If you don’t know by now, Cherry Grove is Long Island’s gay paradise, and it’s also where I try to spend all of my free time! A small vacation town filled with kitschy cute houses, smiling friendly gays of all ages, shapes and sizes, and more fun than you can shake a stick at! Not to mention one of the area’s best beaches! (Although yes, nudity is allowed and no it’s not usually the people you’d like to be nude. – No offense to the nudists. )

Every week I am going to feature more and more info on Cherry Grove because I love it. My girlfriend and I visit weekly – during the week is the best when it’s slow, and on the weekends you can take the ferry over at night, party and come back to LI in time to catch a train back to your area!

So…do you like girls? 

I bought this cute bank at Puff -n-Stuff, the gift shop that is built into my home-away-from-home, The Grove Hotel and The Ice Palace. The Grove Hotel is where I always stay. The staff rocks, the Ice Palace club is bumpin’ and it’s the most affordable and fun place to stay on the ‘Grove! The gift shop features everything and more from snacks and cigarettes to a full line of home-made Ecuadorian jewelry to a full on drag boutique for those nights when you are in an emergency, girl! The two adorable men who run the store are super-friendly and super knowledgeable of the merchandise in the store – so look around closely -down low for all the adult goodies and up high for pics of Mother Monster herself, Lady Gaga at The Ice Palace and the gift shop!! It REALLY is her from a few years before she blew up!

Supposedly she loved it here! She also performed! Damn I wish I couldve been there for that!

So hit up Cherry Grove as soon as you can! Book a room at The Grove Hotel to party the night away, or just take the Sayville Ferry for $14 and be a day-tripper! It’s totally worth it! (P.S. – top secret tip! On Wednesdays at The Ice Palace you can catch a $6 Chinese buffet! It’s by far the most affordable meal on the island (other than the very awesome Cherry Grove Pizza) and the Chinese food it top notch!
